I own this mitt, but rarely use it because I find it too long for my female arm... its clumsy


This mitt is adequate for shaking or quickly moving metal items around on the grill. Don't try to take a hot pan or skewer more than about ten feet, or it will burn your hand through the material.


I made the mistake of hanging my old Weber mits on the wall and going with some new silicone mits that my wife bought me as a present. I figured they would do a better job. Plus, for some jobs like taking chicken off the rotisserie, I would be able to wash them easier. After all, they were the latest and greatest.

Well I'm back to the old Weber mits again. I found that the silicone mits did not give me as positive of grip plus I found that although they seemed to provide more short-term protection against heat, the silicone mits themselves will get hot and then they retain the heat. In other words, if you were doing something that that would heat up the Weber mit all you had to do was back away and the mit itself would cool off almost immediately. That is not the case with the silicone mits, once they heat up, they stay hot and it keeps adding up until you can't stand to have your hands in them any more. That's why I came back to the Weber mits.


Do yourself a favor and buy a real heavy duty BBQ mitt. This one looks nice and fits well, but it starting burning one night and I threw it out.


There is a reason this mitt is relatively cheap. The shape of it is very strange. It does not fit my hands at all. I have fairly wide hands and this mitt feels very ackward. It is tight to get into and the thumb is too short. I would return it except the postage would cost me more than the mitt did. I would suggest you buy in person someplace where you can put your hands in it first.


I bought these because I'm always burning my arms when I remove bread from my oven. These gloves cover my arms to the elbow and are flexible enough to allow me to handle bread pans easily. The price is outstanding; I saw the same thing at one of the chain home stores for $7.99 each.


This mitt works fine for me. I was worried that the size would be too small after reading the previous review. I don't have forearms as big as Popeye, but I am a 300 pound man and I have no problem with the fit of this mitt. This mitt really comes in handy when I'm dumping the hot coals into the grill.


While the mitt is beautiful and the price is right, it is narrow. Most mitts flare towards the opening, this one does not. I have larger forearms and it won't fit all the way up. My husband has average sized arms and it won't go around his upper forearm either. Since they are so long they go almost to your elbow.

Pros:
1. Mitt fits comfortably all the way to your elbow (unless you've got really long arms)
2. Works fine at resisting heat and flames while you turn, baste and otherwise fiddle around with chunks of food on a grill
3. Aesthetically pleasing and has a ring for hanging when not in use.
4. Affordable
5. People volunteer for cooking duty if they can get a turn with the cool glove


Cons:
1. Turning food with a fork is fairly easy, but the thickness of the glove makes for clumsy work with tongs and brush
2. Gets dirty quickly when the sauce starts to fly
3. People tend to "forget" to leave it behind when they're through helping you cook.

Let's face it, a mitt is a mitt. I purchased this mitt because it adds to the grilling experience using my Weber grill. Sure, it has a longer design when compared to regular oven mitts, but regular mitts protect your hands just as well. The main reason to purchase this product is to add to the experience of Weber grilling.


Perfect insulation. And washes nicely. I washed it on the delicate cycle and air dried it, and stills looks brand new.


Not much to say. Around $5 or so and Weber quality. Cheaper than other off brand mitts.


Very nice to not burn the hairs off my hand removing the grill lid, or trying to arrange coals, or flipping burgers. Also very stylish.

Highly recommended.
